🩷 Sweet, savory, and gently spiced – made for gatherings, ready in just 30 minutes.
A modern take on classic Andong-style Korean braised chicken, this dish combines rich flavor with quick prep. Juicy chicken wings meet soy-based broth, glass noodles, and bold chili heat. It’s the perfect comfort meal—hearty, tender, and deeply satisfying. 🍲✨

🍽️ Intro
When soft chicken wings meet chewy glass noodles and soak in a sweet-savory soy sauce broth, something magical happens.
Today’s dish is “Andong Jjimdak” — but quicker, lighter, and just as comforting.
At HoHoYa, we skip the sugar and use allulose instead. We pre-boil the chicken with ginger for a cleaner taste, and skip soaking the noodles to keep that signature chew.
All this, ready in just 30 minutes.
✨ It’s bold.
✨ It’s comforting.
✨ It’s surprisingly quick.
📜 Ingredients (Serves 4–5)
✅ Chicken Wingettes – 1kg
✅ Ginger Powder – 1 Tbsp
✅ Potatoes – 2 medium
✅ Spicy Jjimdak Sauce – 1 pouch (220g)
✅ Dark Soy Sauce (Jin Ganjang) – 7 Tbsp
✅ Allulose – 5 Tbsp
✅ Scallions – 1 handful
✅ Onions – 2 whole
✅ Glass Noodles (Dangmyeon) – 100g (dry)
✅ Peperoncino – half a handful
👨🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Boil chicken wings with 1 Tbsp of ginger powder for 5 minutes.
Give them a quick cold rinse — it tightens the texture and leaves them fresh and clean.
2️⃣ In a clean pot, pour in 1200ml of water and bring to a full boil.
Add the pre-boiled chicken, diced potatoes, jjimdak sauce, soy sauce, and allulose.
Boil for 10 minutes until the broth gets rich and everything starts blending together.
3️⃣ Add onions, scallions, and dry glass noodles straight in — no soaking needed.
Keep it boiling for another 15 minutes until the noodles turn chewy and the sauce thickens.
4️⃣ Drop in the peperoncino and boil just 1–2 minutes more.
📌 Seriously — don’t overdo it. It gets spicier than you’d think. 🌶️
📌 All cooking steps were done on high heat, using a highlight-style electric cooktop.
Adjust timing slightly if you’re using gas or induction.
💡 Tips
🔹 Pre-boiling with ginger is non-negotiable.
It removes odors and gives your chicken a firmer, cleaner bite. You’ll notice the difference.
🔹 A quick cold rinse = springy, glossy texture.
It’s not about crispiness — it’s about that satisfying bounce in every bite.
🔹 No pre-soaking the noodles.
Dry glass noodles absorb just the right amount of sauce as they cook — chewy, flavorful, and never soggy.
🔹 Want a cheesy upgrade?
Sprinkle mozzarella on top before serving for a stretchy surprise. Kids love it. Adults secretly do too.
🔹 Peperoncino is not for chewing.
It gets dangerously spicy if bitten. Even Koreans find it overwhelming. Let it steep, not speak. 😅🔥
