🩵 Quick late-night fix for a hungry student!
While HoTak was up late studying for his midterms, he suddenly craved some tteokbokki. So we made a quick trip to the nearby CU convenience store and grabbed this instant spicy rice cake bowl. It wasn’t fancy, but with a handful of chopped scallions and a little care, it turned into a warm, comforting late-night treat!

📦 What’s Inside?
🍢 Tteok (Korean rice cakes) – A bit soft but decent texture
🍜 Mini ramen – Standard mini ramyun from Ottogi
🥢 Chewy noodles – Adds a fun, bouncy texture
🌶️ Sauce packet – Mild and slightly savory, not too spicy
👩🍳 How I Cooked It
1️⃣ Added all ingredients and sauce into the bowl
2️⃣ Poured hot water up to the line inside the container
3️⃣ Microwaved it
- 1000W: 5 minutes
- 700W: 5 minutes 30 seconds
(🕓 I cooked it for 4 minutes 30 seconds first, added chopped scallions, then microwaved 1 more minute)
4️⃣ Topped with extra scallions
🥚 A boiled egg could have made it better!
📝 Taste Notes
😋 Not too salty – seasoning is balanced
🔥 Very mild – not spicy at all
🍜 Sauce pairs better with the tteok than the noodles
🧀 Mozzarella cheese may not be the best match — the sauce flavor is too subtle for it to shine.
👀 Overall Thoughts
Nothing groundbreaking, but good for a quick and easy bite.
Adding scallions really boosted the aroma and flavor.
Super convenient – microwave-only cooking!
