Korean Soondae Soup with Rice – 토종 순대국밥

🩵 Bold broth, chewy soondae, and just the right amount of heat — ready in minutes.

I’ll be honest — I expected it to be good.
And it was.
It tasted like something you’d get from a proper soondae-gukbap joint.

🏪 Intro

Paldo Han-Kki’s Korean Soondae Soup caught my attention.
There was rice, a generous pouch of broth, and a pack of soondae with head meat.
It looked solid, and I was curious.

I microwaved the rice.
Then opened the soup pack and poured it into the black bowl.
Filled it to the line with hot water and into the microwave it went — 3 minutes 30 seconds at 1000W.

The scent came up fast.
Pork broth, a little nutty, definitely rich.

Once I stirred it, the ingredients started showing.
Thick soondae slices, bits of meat, and a clear broth with some depth.
Perilla seed powder was already included — that was a nice touch.

I added a scoop of rice and a handful of scallions.
It looked complete.

🍛 What’s in the Bowl?

✅ Soondae Soup Base (with head meat + Korean soondae)
✅ Instant White Rice (Paldo “Delicious Bowl”)
✅ Perilla Seed Powder
✅ Black Bowl with Water Line
✅ Optional: Scallions, green chili

⏱️ Ready in Minutes

1️⃣ Microwave the rice (uncover to dotted line)
· 1000W: 2 min
2️⃣ Pour soup pack into the bowl
3️⃣ Add hot water to the water line
4️⃣ Microwave again
· 1000W: 3 min
· 700W: 3 min 30 sec
5️⃣ Stir well
6️⃣ Add rice and scallions to serve

📌 Pro tip
Be precise with the water. Too much, and it’s bland. Too little, and it gets salty.

📝 What It Tastes Like

🔹 The broth is thick and savory — you can tell it’s from pork head stock
🔹 Soondae slices are chewy and full, not flimsy
🔹 The chunks of meat add richness, and they’re not small
🔹 The perilla powder gives it a mild nuttiness without being heavy
🔹 With rice and scallions, it’s a proper meal — not just a quick fix

💭 Overall Thoughts

The broth had actual flavor. The toppings were generous.
The included perilla powder? That’s a win.

I added a few scallions and chili, but it would’ve been fine on its own.
If you’re after a hot, filling bowl without the hassle — this is it.
