🩵 Rich umami, dancing bonito, and a tiny bit of magic — all in one tray.
From the moment I opened the lid, I knew this wasn’t just a simple convenience meal.
The flakes moved like they were alive (seriously!), and the aroma of katsuo filled the room.
I added a yolk and sliced chili, and in that moment — it looked just like the packaging. Cute and powerful.

👩🍳 How I Cooked It
1️⃣ Heat the rice
· 1000W: 2 minutes 30 seconds
· 700W: 3 minutes
2️⃣ Pour the rice into the black tray, add the Katsuo Mazesoba Sauce and Spicy Vegetable Flakes, and mix well
· 1000W: Microwave for 1 minute
· 700W: Microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds
3️⃣ Finish with Katsuo Powder Seasoning and Bonito Flakes on top, then gently stir
✨ Pro tip
Add a raw egg yolk and a few red chili slices — it elevates the look and mellows the saltiness.
A sunny-side-up egg or seasoned seaweed on the side would be amazing too.
And yes — a side of kimchi makes it even better. 💯!
📝 Taste Notes
🐟 Bonito aroma is intense, in the best way
🍳 Yolk smooths out the flavor beautifully
🌶️ Chili and veggie flakes give texture and pop
🥢 1.5 servings — perfect for two people to share
🥤 Great match with something fizzy (Sprite worked well!)
👀 Overall Thoughts
This was more than a quick meal — it was fun to make, tasty to eat, and honestly… pretty cute.
The Catch! Teenieping sticker added a playful surprise, and the texture of the bonito made the whole bowl feel like a premium dish.
It’s a ready-made convenience meal, but somehow it felt special.
Just one more yolk, a little kimchi on the side, and boom — you’ve got comfort in a cup.
Definitely a meal I’d grab again.
